The Fastest Citizenship Programs in the World (2026 Timelines)

Real processing times, not brochure promises: which programmes deliver passports in months, and what actually causes delays.

Fastest citizenship by investment programs in 2026

Brochure time vs real time

Every programme advertises its best case. Real timelines are driven by three variables: how fast you compile documents, how clean your due diligence profile is, and the CIU's current caseload. The figures below are what we actually see across client files in 2025–2026.

Vanuatu: 1–2 months

Still the outright speed champion — approvals in 30–60 days are routine. The trade-off is mobility (Schengen and UK access suspended). Vanuatu is the right answer only when the calendar, not the map, is the constraint.

Turkey: 3–5 months

The fastest programme with a genuinely strong outcome. Property purchase can complete in 2–4 weeks by power of attorney; the state side (conformity certificate, residence permit, presidential decree) runs 2–4 months. Delays almost always trace to valuation shortfalls or payment-trail gaps — both preventable.

St. Kitts & Nevis: 3–6 months

Post-reform St. Kitts runs a disciplined 3–6 months including the mandatory interview. The Accelerated Application Process of old is gone; clean files move fast anyway.

Grenada and Dominica: 4–6 months

Both islands deliver in 4–6 months with interviews included. Grenada files with US E-2 ambitions should add 3–6 months post-passport for business formation and consular processing — start the E-2 business plan during citizenship processing, not after.

What actually causes delays — and the UAE footnote

Across all programmes, five things slow files: missing apostilles, unexplained large deposits, name mismatches across documents, expired police certificates (most are valid only 3–6 months), and slow medicals. We run document collection in parallel, not sequence — it is why our files consistently land at the fast end of every range.

And if you need status this month rather than a passport this year: the UAE Golden Visa issues 10-year residency in 2–8 weeks. Many clients take the UAE first for immediate mobility, with a Caribbean citizenship processing behind it.
